In the first T20I of the Pakistan vs. New Zealand series at Eden Park, Wellington, Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi had a challenging captaincy debut, especially against New Zealand's Finn Allen. While Shaheen began well, taking an early wicket and maintaining discipline, Finn Allen unleashed an onslaught in the second over, smashing five consecutive boundaries off Shaheen.
The over ended up as Shaheen Afridi's most expensive in T20Is, conceding 24 runs. Despite the challenging over, New Zealand went on to post a formidable total of 226/8, with captain Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell contributing significantly. In the chase, Pakistan fell short by 46 runs, with Tim Southee's impressive bowling securing New Zealand's victory.
